A Comprehensive Learning Foundation
When preparing a beginner's course I'm always mindful that many artists are, in fact, beginners. This sounds silly at first but it is very easy for an experienced artist to create a beginners course and make it too difficult for a beginner.
I decided to make sure that this beginners course did teach the essential painting foundations that every beginner should know. I have made sure that these concepts are easy for beginners to grasp. By using short and practical video lessons every beginner will soon master the essentials.
What You Will Learn
The essentials of values, color and painting process will make your paintings improve considerably. I have avoided going into great detail with these concepts because, for the beginner, actually creating paintings is a priority. You will quickly get on to practical painting lessons. There are several photo references to download so yo can paint exactly what I've been teaching in each lesson. The only way to get familiar with the medium is to simply start painting with it as soon as possible.
Master Gouache Color
You will get to know your colors by testing and mixing them to get different results. With this approach you will quickly gain confidence using the paint itself. How the brush interacts with the paint and what marks are created is critical to learn. With a series of simple exercises from understanding the source of light then to painting typical subjects you will master color quickly. I you to start using the paints in your own paintings as soon as posisble .
Basic but important painting demonstrations are included. Your see how to paint a landscape and also a seascape. I will add future demonstrations as well that will be comfortable for beginners to paint. By including the reference photos for the landscapes and seascapes I want you to paint the subjects not just once but several times.
It is through this process of repeating the painting demonstrations that you will gain confidence. You're also note that each painting you do will be different each time you complete it. This is a natural growing stage in your painting and you learn from mistakes you made in the previous painting. By correcting those errors and trying out new things you become an accomplished artist.
I've included a nice 30% discount on the course when you view the course from this link. I am also working with Jeece Finest gouache paints and they are offering an introductory discount on their paints for US-based artists.
How to Use this Course
Since this is a course for beginners you will be able to establish essential painting skills and get valuable experience. I am in the process of creating an advanced gouache painting course which will follow this one. On completing the beginners course and practicing the lessons in that course you will be able to enjoy the advanced course and take your painting to a new level. All artists taking the beginners course will receive a special offer on the advanced course when it is published.
For now explore the course and the potential of painting in gouache paints. Try to complete as many small paintings as you can in order to get the essential confidence with the medium. I find gouache to be an extremely enjoyable medium to use. It has now become an essential part of my painting practice. I'm sure that you will also grow to love using gouache paint and it will take your paintings to new and exciting levels.
