The thing with resources is to know what works and what is merely another shiny object. I have spent a lot of time on the latter. But over time I have also accumulated a list of products, materials and applications that have helped me with my painting and business. I often get requests for details about what kit I use for videos or paintings and so on. So I began to put together a Resources page. It is amazing how many things go into making this website, my art business and the amount of learning material required. Of course this spans several years. I hope that you find some of the resources useful. I will be adding more resources over the coming month or when I discover something new and useful. From art books, art materials, productivity guides, artist videos, hardware and software for your business and more. For now please check out the new resources directory below. Enjoy. Of the many questions I receive from artists the issue of price is the most common. Behind this question is, of course, the BIG question. How do I sell more paintings? After all if you are selling many paintings you are probably happy and looking to increase prices. Or maybe you are debating whether to increase your prices at all? Let us take a close look at the pricing issue.
How to make rapid improvement in your painting? Unleash your painting genius. In an earlier article on this topic I received a lot of feedback from artists. Many believe that they do not fall into the category of potential painting genius. In fact they suggest that nothing significant will change with their painting. That they somehow fall outside of this special group. Nuts to that I say! So here is the challenge.
Watch this video where I sum up my argument and then join me below for the challenge. Are you starting to lose momentum? Do you start off in January with a plan and get stuck during February. Try again in March and find you are running on empty the next month or so? This is a familiar pattern for me. Perhaps you can relate? This is a pattern that affects everybody. Even retirees find themselves burned out and need to renew their energy reserves. How can you eliminate this destructive pattern so that you have quality time for work and play? Are you looking for advanced tips and painting secrets that will help your paintings stand out? Well I have published something unusual and it may be just what you are looking for. Take a look at this Painting Bundle that I am offering on a limited time basis. I have never offered this before. I have prepared a series of lectures that I use to instruct my art student one-to-one. These are practical notes, fully illustrated, and to the point. Some of the topics are more advances and if you are a beginner you may need to supplement your learning. But this should not be a problem if you are determined to advance your painting quickly. There are a number of courses you can use to supplement your knowledge. The bonus feature is that I have included audio instruction with each lecture that help you to make the most of this learning experience. Over forty-three minutes of audio instruction that you can listen to at any time when you read through your notes. There is valuable information here and a lot of content to consider. So I do stress that you practice the lessons before moving onto the next. Otherwise it becomes a large volume to digest and that can become daunting. Practice step-by-step and you will see immediate improvement in your painting. I hope that you enjoy these lessons and the format. Click on the button below and find out more about this special offer. Happy Painting! “Never turn your hobby into a job” is a pithy piece of advice handed out for free by well-meaning folk apparently to those hobbyists on the brink of entrepreneurial catastrophe. My gut reaction is to reject this notion. Often what is proffered as sound advice is rather the bitter whine of someone who lives in regret. I have never heard a real entrepreneur give this advice. But there it is. A chilling warning that is known world-wide. So let us take a closer look at this verbal dose of nasty medicine and see if there is some truth to it. Light. What would we do without it? Our little blue planet depends on it. At least life on the planet does. And somewhere in the entire hierarchy of beings dwell the artists. Those peculiar people who seek out light in all its forms for their works of art. Sunrise, sunset and in all weather conditions light in its abundance or elusiveness continues to mesmerize the landscape artist. Seems a pity not to do a good job with it then. |
