The thing with resources is to know what works and what is merely another shiny object. I have spent a lot of time on the latter. But over time I have also accumulated a list of products, materials and applications that have helped me with my painting and business. I often get requests for details about what kit I use for videos or paintings and so on. So I began to put together a Resources page. 

It is amazing how many things go into making this website, my art business and the amount of learning material required. Of course this spans several years. I hope that you find some of the resources useful. I will be adding more resources over the coming month or when I discover something new and useful.

Of the many questions I receive from artists the issue of price is the most common. Behind this question is, of course, the BIG question. How do I sell more paintings? After all if you are selling many paintings you are probably happy and looking to increase prices. Or maybe you are debating whether to increase your prices at all? Let us take a close look at the pricing issue.

Many believe that they do not fall into the category of potential painting genius. In fact they suggest that nothing significant will change with their painting. “Never turn your hobby into a job” is a pithy piece of advice handed out for free by well-meaning folk apparently to those hobbyists on the brink of entrepreneurial catastrophe. My gut reaction is to reject this notion. Often what is proffered as sound advice is rather the bitter whine of someone who lives in regret. I have never heard a real entrepreneur give this advice. But there it is. A chilling warning that is known world-wide. So let us take a closer look at this verbal dose of nasty medicine and see if there is some truth to it.​

Light. What would we do without it? Our little blue planet depends on it. At least life on the planet does. And somewhere in the entire hierarchy of beings dwell the artists. Those peculiar people who seek out light in all its forms for their works of art. Sunrise, sunset and in all weather conditions light in its abundance or elusiveness continues to mesmerize the landscape artist. Seems a pity not to do a good job with it then.
